On September 9, 2005, the U.S. firm Whirlpool celebrated the formal opening of a new plant at their Wroclaw facility (the Polar plant) producing stoves and ovens. The U.S. Consul General in Krakow, Kenneth Fairfax joined Whirlpool's Vice President for European Operation, Michael Todman, plant manager Egidio Calvi, and many other guests for the opening ceremony. This latest investment by Whirlpool in Poland will create 1,000 additional jobs, bringing the total workforce to over 3,000. |
