The Verdehr trio performed in Kraków on June 5 as part of the city’s International Festival of Contemporary Music. Their appearance was sponsored in part by Public Affairs Section in Krakow. The Verdehr is violin-clarinet-piano trio, whose repertoire includes a wide range of works from the world's most prominent composers. In addition to contemporary music it performs classical and romantic works, many of which the musicians themselves rediscovered and transcribed. The Trio has played throughout the world. Among major concert halls where they have appeared are: Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, Library of Congress, Sydney Opera House, London's Wigmore Hall and Leningrad's Philharmonic Chamber Hall. The members of the The Verdehr Trio are Walter Verdehr (the violin), Elsa Ludewig-Verdehr (the clarinet) and Silvia Roederer (the piano) have also been performing as soloists with numerous orchestras.
