Judge Thomas A. Varlan

Thomas A. Varlan, United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Tennessee lectured on The Judicial Decision Making Process in the United States at the Jagiellonian University School of American Law on October 13, 2005.

In his presentation Judge Varlan explained the role of the Federal Judiciary under the U.S. Constitution, its “checks and balances” relationship with the two other branches of government and how it interacts with the judiciaries and governments of the 50 states.
