On April 18-19, the U.S. Ambassador Victor Ashe visited the towns of Przemysl, Sanok and Krosno in Podkarpackie province in southeastern Poland.

In Przemysl he had a series of meetings with local government officials including the mayor and religious leaders from the major denominations - Roman Catholic and Greek Catholic. He also met with a representative from the Ukrainian minority and visited the bells and pipes museum while on a walking tour of the old city center. The Ambassador and the Mayor of Przemysl also had a brief joint press conference highlighting his visit.

On the following day he had individual meetings with the city officials from Sanok and Krosno. While in Sanok he also toured Museum of the Regional Architecture (Skansen) and the Historic Museum with its extensive icon collection (4th largest in the world), and then stopped at the well-known Krosno glassworks factory.
