On Oct. 20 Susan Parker-Burns, Public Affairs Officer in Krakow together with the Partnership for Democracy Foundation President opened a seminar "One year after - Experiences and Perspectives" held in Czarna, Podkarpackie region close to the Ukrainian border. The seminar's goal was to sum up a year of 12 monthly workshops organized for Ukrainian journalists in cross border region localities as well as in provincial capitals of other regions and recently also in Brussels at the NATO headquarters and European institutions. The Seminar speakers such as Vice-Chairman of European Parliament, the Ukrainian Ambassador to Poland, the Vice-Chairman of Ukrainian Parliamentary Commission for European Integration and Public Affairs Officer Susan Parker Burns delivered lectures on the value and perspectives for the program as seen from Kiev, Warsaw and Washington. The later debate among the speakers and the 80-person audience, mostly Ukrainian and Polish journalists, resulted in better understanding of Ukrainian needs at the current stage of their democracy and provided many valuable hints for the Partnership for Democracy Foundation's future programming.
