Consul General Kenneth J. Fairfax addressed a three-day workshop for some 20 Ukrainian journalists from both print and electronic media on March 2-4 in the city of Rzeszow in southeastern Poland. It was the seventh in an ongoing series of media workshops under Partnership for Democracy, a project founded and sponsored by the U.S. Consulate General in Krakow. In light of the upcoming parliamentary elections in Ukraine, the subject of the workshop was electoral campaigns and elections. He addressed the workshop’s participants and local notables from the region’s government, business and cultural community as part of the program highlighting the U.S. government’s activities and priorities regarding democracy and regional cooperation in both southeastern Poland and Ukraine.
