The International Organ Festival in Zakopane is organized in the months of June, July and August every year. It attracts a large local audience and hundreds of tourists.

For the last two years the United States Consulate General in Krakow sponsored the participation of American artist Gail Archer, Professor of organ at the Manhattan School of Music and Chair of the Music Department at Barnard College, Columbia University. Prof. Archer played at the main church of the most popular Polish mountain resort and she also gave a concert in Krakow and four small towns in southern Poland famous for excellent church organs.

Prof. Archer is closely involved in Polish-American cultural exchange. In February 2006, she will be artistically directing an international exchange concert program, sponsored by The Polish Cultural Institute and Harriman Institute of Columbia University, featuring Polish organists performing in New York City.
