Public Affairs Section Supports Independence Day Concert in Opole

To celebrate July 4th Independence Day, U.S Consulate General in Krakow and the City of Opole sponsored a special concert of American music performed by the Opole Philharmonic on July 2 at the newly renovated Sala Koncertowa Filharmonii Opolskiej. U.S. Consul General Kenneth Fairfax attended the event. The concert included a variety of American standards plus tributes to Louis Armstrong and Frank Sinatra. It also featured a Rebecca Babb-Nelsen (USA) - soprano as the Soloist. The program "SALUTE TO BROADWAY" included: G. Gershwin - American in Paris, Summertime, John Philip Sousa - Washington Post, Stars and the Stars and Stripes Forever plus American standards: You’’ Never Walk alone, I Could Have Danced All Night, Memories, My Funny Valentine.
