The 2006 International Education Week events co-organized by the Polish – U.S. Fulbright Commission, the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw, the U.S. Consulate General in Krakow and the American Corner in Wrocław were held in three major Polish academic centers: Warsaw, Krakow and Wrocław.

The conference on ‘Polish – American Academic Exchange and E.U. – U.S.A. Transatlantic Collaboration’ in Wrocław highlighted new opportunities available at EU universities involved in academic collaboration with U.S. partners. The participants, who came from numerous Polish universities and other institutions of higher education, were engaged in the discussion on how Polish universities can attract more American students.

Student workshops in Wrocław, Krakow and Warsaw on “Study USA – Doors of U.S. Universities/Colleges Are Open Wide” attracted dozens of students from various academic institutions who are interested in studying at American universities. The educational advisors explained admission procedures, spoke about financial aid opportunities, scholarships, grants and loans. Visa officers explained the straightforward student visa application process.
