Ambassador Robert Hunter, former United States Ambassador to NATO and current senior advisor at the Rand Corporation, recently met with 60 American Studies students at Krakow University College to discuss US foreign policy after the November midterm elections. The lively discussion touched on NATO expansion, Poland’s role in NATO, the US relationship with the European Union and other topics. At the close of his visit with the students, Ambassador Hunter described earlier visits to Poland before 1989 and urged the students to take advantage of opportunities they now have to participate in a vibrant democracy.
