The President of Poland Honors Consul General Anne Hall with the Order of Merit

In recognition of her  “extraordinary accomplishments in developing Polish-American cooperation”  the President of Poland honored Anne Hall , Consul General in Krakow, with the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of  Poland http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Order_of_Merit_of_the_Republic_of_Poland
On Thursday, July 16, during a ceremony at the Mirror Hall of the Słowacki Theater http://www.slowacki.krakow.pl/ in Kraków, Anne Hall was presented with the order by Jerzy Miller, the Governor of the Małopolska Region.  The ceremony took place in the presence of  the Deputy Chief of US Mission to Poland Pamela Quanrud, leaders of  local government, cultural institutions and universities, the media and her Consulate staff. Ms. Hall received special praise from Krakow and Malopolska government leaders for her active and fruitful work.  She is the first US Consul to be conferred this distinction. Created in 1974, the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland is a Polish order awarded to those who have rendered great service to the Polish nation.
