Professor Gladney is giving a lecture on free speech and free press

Prof. George Gladney, Visiting Fulbright Scholar at the Polish Academy of Sciences, lectured on "The Limits of Free Speech and Free Press — Lessons From the American Experience” to around 30 students at the American Studies department of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow on May 16. In his discussion Prof. Gladney gave an overview of the history of freedom of the press in the U.S. and the ongoing debate since the founding of the republic as to what restrictions should be placed on it. In particular he focused on the evolution of U.S. Supreme Court decisions on the subject.
