Ambassador Takes Part in the "Last Bolt" Ceremony

On May 31st Ambassador Victor Ashe took part in the “Last Bolt” Ceremony at WSK PZL Rzeszów S.A. – the Pratt & Whitney plant assembling the F-100 jet engines that will power the F-16 jet fighters being purchased by Poland. The Ambassador joined Pratt & Whitney President Steve Finger, Polish Air Force Chief of Staff General Stanisław Targosz and other Polish and American dignitaries in ceremonially tightening the last bolt on the advanced F-100/229 engine that will be installed in one of the first F-16 fighters to be delivered to Poland this fall.
Ambassador Ashe was accompanied by Kenneth Fairfax, Consul General from Kraków, both at the "Last Bolt" ceremony and during visits to the mayors of Sokołów Małopolski, Kolbuszowa and Głogów Małopolski, three districts located in the region north of Rzeszów. The Ambassador and Consul General also met with Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport Director Jan Straż for a briefing on the airport's ongoing expansion program.
