The American Choir Variations in Poland

February 14, 2008

 Choir Variations
 Variations
The American choir Variations sang in several locations around Poland during their week-long tour.  The group held concerts at Warsaw’s Wilanow Castle, Lublin’s Catholic University and in Krakow at St. Mary’s Church and the Young Musician’s Festival.  The group also sang two tribute pieces at Auschwitz.  The choir is made up of 36 students from Tennessee’s Pellissippi State Technical Community College.  The group’s 18 men and 18 women performed a program that included a balanced mix of traditional choral music with American folk songs, African American spirituals, and lighter fare such as "Broadway" selections. The program included both a cappella selections and others accompanied by piano. For a short selection of music and video from the choir’s 2007 tour of Normandy and Paris, please visit: http://etsms.pstcc.edu/ets/france-video/.
