President Obama Announces Reviews of Terrorist Watch List and Travel Screening Systems

Addressing the media, on December 29th the President commented on administration efforts to review and improve security and intelligence in wake of the attempted bombing on Christmas Day.   The day earlier, the President referred to the attempted bombing of a U.S. airliner as "a serious reminder of the dangers that we face." He added that "We will continue to use every element of our national power to disrupt, to dismantle, and defeat the violent extremists who threaten us."  In the same statement, the President also condemned the Iranian government's recent suppression of its own citizens.
