Photographer Harris Fogel Lectures in Krakow

Professor Harris Fogel from the University of Fine Arts in Philadelphia was in Krakow on Friday, November 23 to give a lecture at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts.  His talk, entitled “Remastering the Past”, touched on the changes in the art of photography since the advent of digital cameras.  Using his own photography, Fogel discussed different photographic techniques, showing students his photo series from the American South and the atom bomb test site in the western US known as Trinity.  Professor Fogel also touched on the new trends in art schools in the US, stressing that today’s art students must be fluent in digital technology.
