November 12-16: International Education Week

To celebrate International Education Week, November 12-16, the Fulbright Commission in Warsaw and the U.S. Consulate General in Krakow are preparing a series of workshops devoted to Education in the United States.

There will be three seminars for students (at Warsaw University, Krakow Economic University and Silesian School of Economics in Katowice) explaining university admission procedures and possibilities of student financial assistance from U.S. universities.  In addition there will be a conference entitled “Perspectives in Polish-US Academic Exchange” held on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at 11:00 at the Warsaw University Library, Krakowskie PrzedmieĊ›cie 26/28, Sala Senacka.

Interested students are invited to come to one of the presentations:

 - November 13, 3:00 p.m. at  Warsaw University Library, Krakowskie PrzedmieĊ›cie 26/28,  Sala Senacka  – education advisers and specialists from the US and Poland will be speaking about application procedures, funding for the US studies and student visas.

  - November 14, 12:00 at Krakow Economic University, ul. Rakowicka 27 – we will be presenting Work and Travel Program as well as opportunities to study in the US, Fulbright Program and student financial and visa issues. The seminar will be organized during the International Festival at the university. 

 - November 19, at 1:00 p.m. at Silesian Academy of Economics, ul. 1 Maja 50, room 335 A will host a seminar on Study in the US, presenting the application procedures to the US universities, grants and scholarships and Work and Travel Program. 

International Education Week is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract students from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States.

American institutions interested in international education and exchange activities including schools, colleges and universities, embassies, international organizations join in a series of events, including workshops, seminars and meetings, to explain the benefits of international education and encourage young people to study abroad.  The dates for this year's International Education Week are November 12-16.
