U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao visited Warsaw on June 10 and met with Deputy Prime Minister Waldemar Pawlak and Labor Minister Jolanta Fedek. She participated in an industry round table discussion and lunch with the American Chamber of Commerce to discuss the state of the U.S. Economy and to promote business opportunities between U.S. and Polish industry.  Secretary Chao spoke in the afternoon at the Warsaw School of Economics, addressing 75 students and faculty on U.S. labor and economic topics.  Secretary Chao pointed to the unique U.S. labor market, characterized by flexibility and constant new job creation.  In the evening, she spoke to U.S. and Polish business and labor representatives at an event at the residence of Ambassador Ashe.  "We were delighted to have Secretary Chao visit Warsaw and were happy to hear her insights regarding the U.S. economy and current state of the labor market in the United States," said the Ambassador.  On Wednesday June 11, Secretary Chao visited Auschwitz-Birkenau and attended a reception at Consul General Anne Hall’s residence.
