Poles and Americans joined together to enjoy a concert of American musical favorites from composers like George Gershwin, Irving Berlin and Leonard Bernstein. The American Songbook concert, held on July 5 at Krakow's Philharmonic Hall, featured performances from American cantors. The concert featured music from composers who all had roots in Poland or Eastern Europe and was organized by the Cantor's Assembly and the U.S. Consulate in Krakow. The crowd heard popular show tunes from musicals like "West Side Story", "Fiddler on the Roof" and "The Sound of Music". Renowned American composer Charles Fox also performed selections from his vast body of work, including the hit song, "Killing Me Softly'. The evening closed with the crowd singing Irving Berlin's "God Bless America" along with the cantors.
