Jagiellonian Students Participate in Video Conference on American Literature

Graduate students from Jagiellonian University’s Department of English Philology took part on a digital video conference with Professor David Cowart from the University of South Carolina on April 16 at the Information Resource Center at the U.S. Consulate General in Krakow.  The discussion centered around the topic of immigrant writers in America, the implications of cultural and language assimilation of first-generation immigrants, the canon of literary works studied by the students of English Philology and writers in the contemporary culture of electronic media. Professor Zygmunt Mazur, lecturer on American literature at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, moderated the discussion.
