Poles in Krakow, Katowice and Wroclaw attended election night events on November 4, learning more about the American election process, participating in debates and casting mock ballots.  In Wroclaw, over 300 students came to enjoy the election night atmosphere at the American Corner in the Dolnoslaska Regional Library on Wroclaw’s main square.  Regional officials, academics and students joined in election evening presentations and discussions at the Marcholt Gallery in Katowice.  In Krakow, students from Krakowska Szkola Wzysza (KSW) and Jagiellonian University celebrated election night at KSW with American music, food and presentations on aspects of the American elections.  There were enthusiastic crowds at all the election events, and the U.S. Consulate in Krakow would like to thank the host institutions who worked so hard to make these events a success.

Unofficial voting results amongst the Polish participants were as follows:

Wroclaw  Obama 77%    McCain 23%

Katowice  McCain 52%   Obama 48%

Krakow   Obama 67%    McCain 31%
