DCM Pam Quanrud visits Helusz Children’s Camp in Podkarpackie

On her first trip to southern Poland, Deputy Chief of Mission Pam Quanrud was welcomed by Father Andrzej Surowiec to the Annual Children’s Fair in Helusz in the Podkarpackie region.  This year the theme of the Children’s Fair was the United States.  Ms. Quanrud attended a Mass led by Archbishop Jozef Michalik and gave the opening remarks to the day’s celebration before an audience of nearly two thousand on the beautifully renovated fairgrounds of the camp, surrounded by a host of towering chestnuts and evergreens.  Ms. Quanrud was deeply impressed by the generosity of Father Surowiec and his extended crew of volunteers, and she especially noted the gracious message of the Archbishop’s homily.  Also in attendance were a large number of regional representatives to the national Sejm and Senate.
