American and Polish consulate staff joined together this holiday season to make a donation to the Saint Lazarus Hospice in Nowa Huta. Acting Principal Officer Stephen Barneby visited the hospice on Tuesday December 22 to give the consulate’s 2000 zloty donation to the hospice director. The Saint Lazarus Hospice provides devoted and personal care to Poles, young and old, who are diagnosed as being terminally ill. The hospice was beautifully decorated for Christmas. After the visit, Stephen Barneby told consulate staff, "It was obvious that the management and staff at the hospice are dedicated to giving their patients a warm and dignified place to spend their last days".
