Consulate Goes Green for Earth Day
April 28, 2009
April 22 was Earth Day, but the U.S. Consulate in Krakow used the entire month of April to implement some "green" office practices. Consulate staff monitored the number of electronics left on at the end of the day, trash thrown away that could be recycled, and other ways consulate staff could be more environmentally efficient. On April 28, several consulate employees who best followed these green office guidelines received reusable shopping bags and a plant. The U.S. Consulate will continue to go "green" as we work with a local NGO on becoming a certified green office. For more information on how your workplace be more energy efficient and environmentally friendly, please visit the U.S. Environment Protection Agency's website at: http://www.epa.gov/epahome/workplac.htm.
