Vice Consul Linda Rosalik was in the town of Cieklin on April 10 for the opening of the new Ski Museum. This museum was created in collaboration with the European Union's Neighborhood Program in Dębowiec and commemorates the introduction of skiing in Poland. Skiing has become one of the most popular sports in Poland, and according to Newsweek, last year alone two and a half million Poles went on a ski vacation. The new museum should provide an additional tourist attraction to the area which already boasts two World War cemeteries. On hand to celebrate the opening were the mayor of Jasło, the starosta, local clergy and the museum's patroness, Barbara Prinke-Kusiba. Ms. Rosalik, an accomplished skier herself, donated a pair of skis, boots and a photo from her days as a competitive skier.
