Vice-Consul John Surface attended the opening of the September 11 Memorial Photograph Gallery at the Dom Kultury in Jaslo on Tuesday, September 11.  The event was hosted by the International Police Association chapter in Podkarpackie.  Captain Marian Majowicz noted in his remarks how important the sharing of information between law enforcement agencies has become and highlighted the cooperation between Polish, American, Ukrainian and EU law enforcement officers at conferences sponsored by Policeman Foundation.  Vice-Consul Surface reminded the audience that the towers were more than just buildings – that they were a shared human space where hundreds of thousands lived, worked, met at restaurants and commuted to work.  Mr. Surface asked the assembled audience to remember how the daily lives of very ordinary people were altered forever, and how the loss of one person affected extended families and entire communities of friends and co-workers.  Mr. Surface personally and individually thanked each of the attending police officers in Jaslo for their solid support and service in the years since 9/11.
