Consul General Participates in Sanok “PaintFest”

On July 2-3 Consul General Anne Hall participated in Poland’s first ever “PaintFest” in Sanok.   The event was sponsored by the Foundation for Hospital Art and took place at the Sanok hospital where Ms. Hall, along with Michelle Riebeling, Pol/Econ officer, and Ela Konarska of our Public Affairs staff,  joined hospital staff, patients, families, and community volunteers to paint eight murals that will soon brighten the corridors of the hospital.

During her visit to Sanok, Ms. Hall also met with Sanok Mayor Wojciech Blecharczyk and the head of the county, Mr. Waclaw Krawczyk. On the second day of the festival, Mayor Blecharczyk joined Ms. Hall and the other volunteers to help paint the murals.

The PaintFest was the final leg of an international art effort to unite people in six countries (USA, Brazil, South Korea, Germany, Norway, and Poland) in a common cause…to give comfort and love to people in hospitals.

The U.S. Consulate General in Krakow also donated one mural that was painted by Consulate staff prior to the Sanok PaintFest.
