American West Exhibition Opens at Magurski National Park

The US Consulate in Krakow and Magurski National Park organized the opening of an exhibition entitled “American West” on Wednesday August 1 in the park’s educational center.  The exhibit consists of 50 colorful photographs that present the incredible beauty of the American western landscape.  Wieslaw Pikul, a Polish-American photographer, traveled thousand of miles through national parks in the western United States to choose the best moments and best light for his pictures.  At the opening, Jan Szafranski, Magurski National Park Director, Duncan Walker, US Consul in Krakow and Wieslaw Pikul, the photographer, all gave remarks.  Local mayors, chiefs of nearby counties, directors of cultural institutions, representatives of NGOs and staff from other national parks attended the opening of the exhibition.  The “American West” exhibit will be open until August 30.
