American Pianist Plays in Kazimierz

American pianist Lee Sloan will pay at Alchemia in Kazimierz on Thursday, December 13 at 8pm. Born in the United States into a musical family, Lee began playing the piano at the age of five, giving his first public concerts in Carnegie Recital Hall and The Brooklyn Academy of Music. He entered the preparatory division of the Manhattan School of Music before continuing his studies at Berklee College, Boston, with Josef Raiff at The Juilliard School, New York City, and with Grace Castagnetta, a pupil of the renowned Polish pianist, Josef Hofmann. Lee was a fixture on the jazz scene in New York City for over ten years, appearing as a soloist and ensemble leader. Following a tour of the UK, he took up residence in London, appearing frequently at the city’s leading jazz venues, including Peter Ind’s ‘The Bass Clef’, ‘Pizza on the Park’, ‘Zanzibar’, ‘Maxim’s’ and ‘The 606 Club’. He has lived in Great Britain, France and Germany, performing with many of Europe’s best musicians.
