American Days at Marcholt Gallery in Katowice

With the U.S. Presidential Elections just a few days away, the U.S. Consulate in Krakow and Marcholt Gallery in Katowice are organizing a week-long program October 28 - November 7 devoted to American presidents and U.S. elections.  The events will include film showings with an introduction by U.S. Consulate officers, an Election Night party and a lecture.

The films show aspects of the American presidency, presidential elections, democracy in action and also political corruption.  The audience will also see examples of various film genres including a drama, a political thriller, a comedy and a love story.

On November 4, Marcholt Gallery and the University of Silesia, under the patronage of U.S. Consulate, will organize an Election Night event.  The program will include film shows, discussions by university specialists in sociology, political science and political marketing, comments on preliminary results of the election, American music, food and drink.

Finally, the results of the U.S. elections 2008 will be summed up by Public Affairs Officer Susan Parker- Burns on November 7 at 6 p.m.  She will speak about the meaning of U.S. election results for U.S. – Polish relations.
