At the opening on December 15, American jazz pianist Lee Sloan played improvisational tunes based on the work of Jewish-American composers. Lee Sloan is one of a few pianists who undertakes the challenge of solo concerts of entirely improvised music. Born in the United States into a musical family, Lee began playing the piano at the age of five. He attended the Berklee College, Boston and was a student of the renowned Polish pianist, Josef Hofmann at The Juilliard School in New York. Lee has worked as a soloist and in jazz ensembles in Great Britain, France, Germany, and Eastern Europe, performing with many of Europe’s finest musicians.
