Ambassador Ashe Visits Southwestern Malopolska

US Ambassador Victor Ashe visited southwestern Malopolska on March 25, visiting several towns and stopping in Babiogórski National Park. In Sucha Beskidzka, Ambassador Ashe met with Mayor StanisÅ‚aw Lichosyt and discussed investment and development in the region and higher education institutions in Sucha. Mayor Lichosyt noted the renowned American film director Billy Wilder was born in Sucha Beskidzka. International Visitor program alumnus Maciej Mazul and Director Józef Omylak met with Ambassador Ashe at the education center in Babiogórski National Park, where Ambassador Ashe enjoyed the snowy scenery. Commenting on the beauty of the park, Ambassador Ashe said, “National parks are one of Poland’s treasures, and I plan to return to Babiogórski.” Ambassador Ashe also visited the town of Maków and met with Mayor StanisÅ‚aw Pawlik and traveled to Jordanów, where Mayor Kazimierz Hajda discussed development and growth in the region with Ambassador Ashe.
