Ambassador Ashe Visits Southern Poland

Ambassador Victor Ashe visited Wrocław, several cities in Silesia, and Krakow during his visit to southern Poland from August 21-23.  The Ambassador began his trip to Silesia with a visit to Racibórz where he met with Mayor Mirosław Lenk and toured the Racibórz Museum.  Ambassador Ashe then continued on to Wodzisław Śląski where he met with Mayor Mieczysław Kieca, and then on to Jastrzębie-Zdrój where he met with Mayor Marian Janecki and did several press interviews.  Following this visit, he went to Żory where he met Deputy Mayor Daniel Wawrzyczek and with representatives of the local media.  The Ambassador concluded his day in Silesia with a visit to Żywiec and a meeting with Mayor Antoni Szlagor.  The stop in Żywiec also included a walk around the city’s castle and interviews with local media.  Ambassador Ashe then continued on to Krakow.
