Ambassador Ashe visited several key cities and towns during an American Independence Day trip in the southwestern region of Poland on July 3.  His trip took him from Wrocław to Krakow, and he stopped and paid visits with mayors and local officials in Oława, Lewin Brzeski, Grodków and Niemodlin.  Ambassador Ashe discussed local issues with city officials, sharing some of his personal local and state government experiences as a former mayor and state senator and legislator.  Ambassador Ashe also stopped at local craft workshops in Łany and Brzeg and was impressed with the unique quality, diversity and beautiful artistic designs found in Poland.
