Luise Becker, Auschwitz Camp survivor during 65th anniversary of the Gypsy Camp liquidation

Acting Consul General Jeffrey Vick attends Roma Commemoration in Auschwitz

On Sunday, August 2, the Roma community in Poland together with many Polish and foreign guests and observers commemorated the 65th anniversary of the liquidation of the so-called Gypsy Family Camp in the former German Auschwitz II-Birkenau death camp.  In the presence of Polish Vice Prime Minister Pawlak as well as Minister Elzbieta Radziszewska, the EU Commissar Vladimir Szpidla, representatives from the European and German Parliaments and  NGOs, Mr. Vick alongside other members of the diplomatic corps, lay down a wreath of flowers in tribute to the Roma victims.
