The Summer Jazz Festival is the main jazz celebration in Krakow every year, attracting thousands of fans throughout the month of July. Every evening there is a musical performance on one of the open air stages or at jazz clubs. Many of the jazz performers are from the U.S., and the U.S. Consulate in Krakow is a sponsor of the festival.
Some upcoming highlights include July 16, 17 and 19 at Krakow's Opera House, when the Festival hosts some world renowned stars.
July 16th at 20:00: Maria Schneider (http://www.mariaschneider.com/), accompanied by NDR Big Band in the first part of the concert and Nils Landgren, a funk and jazz trombone player, in the second half.
July 17th at 20:00: NDR Big Band with Joao Bosco, Brazilian singer, guitarist and composer and Joe Lovano, legendary saxophone player (http://www.joelovano.com).
July 19th at 20:00: NDR Big Band and The Theater of Kurt Weill and Polish -German Jamboree NDR Big Band with Jan Ptaszyn Wroblewski, Roman Gucio Dyląg, Janusz Muniak, Jarek Śmietana and Wladyslaw Adzik Sendecki
