On June 30 in Pszczyna and July 4 in Krakow the United States Consulate General in Krakow celebrated the 227th Anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America.

The reception in Pszczyna, which hosted representatives of local and regional government, non-governmental organizations and artists from Slask, Dolny Slask and Opolszczyzna, took place on the terrace of the Pszczyna Castle. The U.S. Ambassador to Poland, Christopher R. Hill, Consul General Siria Lopez and the mayor of Pszczyna, Henryk Studzienski, were the hosts of the reception.

The reception in Krakow, Consul General Siria Lopez's last official event in Poland, was organized at the Kosciuszko Mound and hosted guests from Malopolska and Podkarpacie. Among the guests was Congressman Howard L. Berman of California with his family.
